Post archive for ‘Site’
Archival Content, You Want It?
Over the last couple days, whilst unable to sleep at one in the morning, I’ve been absently traveling back through the old “Private Oddball” archives from 1994 and onward.
Oh, Hello.
Goodness sakes, you haven’t been sitting here waiting since December, have you? Well, I apologize for leaving this site derelict for so long. In truth, I’ve been too busy to even think about posting here, most of the time.
Search for $A, Find $B: 2006 Edition
About a year ago I posted a humorous sampling of some of the search engine keyphrases people are using when they stumble across Oddball Update.
This is SV7
“V6, come to section J…immediately.”

Web Server Restored
As a general announcement, service has now been restored to the server that hosts my email accounts and some websites, including The Art of Pooch. There should be no further interruptions related to this issue.
So It’s Not K2…
I just set up a Virtual PC running Windows 98, and finally got the mystery “site won’t load” problem to occur for me.
I Knew It’d Get Me Into Trouble
When I last redesigned this site, I augmented the standard Wordpress engine with a special modification known as “K2.” It’s basically a theme on steroids, with built-in features like the live search, Extended Live Archives and other stuff.
The Oddball Oddcast
I’ll be getting into something new here in the next few days: Podcasting.
Oddball Number Six
“V6, come to section J immediately.” Ha — I had to trot out another Doctor Who joke for today’s launch of Oddball Update 6.0, just to pay homage to the version 4 announcement which began similarly.
It Comes with the Territory
Seems like whenever I move my site to a new web host, whether by choice or by some extenuating circumstance, I start getting in the mood to redesign it.
