New HD Channels in Southwest Florida?

For months now, I’ve been anxiously awaiting Comcast’s launch of several new high definition channels in our area of Southwest Florida.

D’OH! I just had Sunday night’s super incredibly revolutionary episode of Battlestar Galactica SPOILED by a post on a totally non-television message board. How did I come to see it?

High Definition Happiness

Tomorrow, my 57″ HDTV finally earns a purpose. A Comcast tech will be stopping by in the afternoon to deliver my new high definition DVR, which will enable me to receive HDTV channels and also record HD programs.

TiVo Resurrected…Again

And again, I bring our TiVo back from the brink of destruction. Actually, it was more like a resuscitation, as the little black box was already clinically dead.

TiVo Died Again

Upon further consideration, I don’t think I am having that much luck with my 24004A TiVo Series2 box. I bought it as a Christmas gift for Apple in 2004, which means that it is almost exactly two years old.

I Like This Digital Cable Stuff

Okay, I’ve never been a proponent of digital cable, despite never using it. I always was of the opinion that satellite TV services were far superior and that cable was crap.

Home Theater Upgrade

Remastered TOS: “Balance of Terror” Impressions

Last night our local UPN (err, sorry…”My Network TV”) affiliate aired the first of the remastered Star Trek: TOS episodes, “Balance of Terror.” Of course, I was up at 11:00 checking it out.
