Oddball Update

After a trying start to the week, things have begun to look up for me.

The Shacknews headline reads: “Duke Nukem Forever Teaser Releasing Tomorrow; This is Real and We Are Not Shitting You.”
So says George Broussard, longtime president of 3D Realms, who today announced that a Very Special Teaser Trailer of the now-joketacular Duke Nukem Forever will be released tomorrow around noon, Central Time.

BioShock has finally arrived! The Limited Edition packaging (pictured) is huge, and the Big Daddy figurine is quite heavy — overall it’s a pretty solid package for only $10 extra.

BioShock, the long-awaited “spiritual successor” to what is perhaps my favorite PC game of all time, System Shock 2, is due to hit the street in just two more weeks.

Random bloggage is imminent. All hands abandon ship.
So here it is, Friday evening, and I’m about to sit down to a meal of home-cooked chicken fricassee.

The gaming community (well, a small niche of it, anyway) is awash with the news that 3D Realms has just released the first screenshot of the eternally-delayed Duke Nukem Forever in over six years — without really meaning to.

Hello all, and welcome to Retro Gaming Month, Mark II. I did this once before, almost three years ago (has it been that long? geesh).

I’ve just received word that a playable demo of F.E.A.R.: Extraction Point — the expansion pack to last year’s creep-tastic PC shooter — will be available tomorrow around 1:00 p.m. is available right now.

I admit to having decried PC gaming somewhat lately, but PC game fans at Oddball Update can rejoice today for more than one reason.

Don’t get your knickers in a wad, Reverend. I mean SiN, the PC game from 1997.
