Oddball Update

After not playing it at all for nearly two months, I eked out as much time on the Xbox360 as I could afford over these last few busy weeks.

The last few days have been quite hellish in these parts (heck, the entire summer has been hellish), so I’ve been pretty much cooped up inside my air conditioned house for the past week or so.

Microsoft released a big udpdate to the Xbox360’s operating system last night, one that adds a lot of new features, solves some issues, and probably bricks over a few security holes for good measure (although security fixes weren’t mentioned in the official release notes).

I admit to having decried PC gaming somewhat lately, but PC game fans at Oddball Update can rejoice today for more than one reason.

It’s back, and this time it’s not just volleyball.

I just spent some more time with Test Drive Unlimited…holy crap, this is going to be the driving game to own on the Xbox360, no question about it.

After sucking for so many years, it seems that the Test Drive series of driving sims is about to make a comeback. As part of their E3 media experience, Xbox Live is offering lots of upcoming Xbox game trailers and demos this week.

Apple christened this post the “entertainment entry” because, as I was telling her about what I was going to write, we both realized it was basically a leisure update — food, games and movies.

I took a break this evening for long enough to briefly try three new game demos for my Xbox360 which I downloaded from Xbox Live.
