Oddball Update

This week had started out so well, too.
This past weekend the Puffy singles and book (!) I ordered from YesAsia came in — sweet. Later this week, if all goes according to plan, my two Puffy CDs from CDJapan will ship.

Yesterday I removed one of the two Geforce 6800GT video cards from my computer, and in its place installed a new Geforce 7300LE I just got from Newegg.

CustomPC reports today that not only is the AMD purchase of ATi “a takeover rather than a merger,” they are dropping the ATi brand name altogether. It seems that eventually you’ll be seeing AMD Radeons on store shelves.

According to headlines, CPU manufacturer AMD may be about to announce an outright purchase of graphics chip maker ATI. That’s right, the very kings of kludgy drivers themselves.

I’m posting this as a reminder to myself in case I ever come across this problem again. And who knows, it might help some of you out there, too.

I received something nice in the mail today: The Dell Latitude notebook computer I ordered last week.

I don’t know about you, but I know what I would do: feel a whole lot smaller.

What seems like years after the rest of the world moved up to WPA security, I finally got there tonight. Not for lack of trying, mind you.

In the last couple of weeks, something strange has been going on with our TiVo.

Well, I suppose this is what I get for naming my workstation after the queen artificial intelligence bitch gestapo.
