GTO with Sport Appearance Package

I don’t post anything on this site for nearly two months, then I show up out of nowhere and proclaim that I’ve ordered a Pontiac GTO as my next new car. So what happened?

Years ago, I knew that something would inevitably kill America’s ridiculous infatuation with the SUV — I just didn’t imagine these circumstances.

Received word that the GTO is once again eligible (after being disqualified back in July) for GM’s “Employee Pricing for Everyone” campaign.

Finally got my car’s order number from the dealer — JGTPG6. Now I can rule the world!
Thanks to moderator HRJ over at the LS2GTO forums this evening, I’ve gotten my first status report on the aforementioned number.

After coming up short at all of the local dealers, and even finding myself unable to make immediate headway through Red Holman Pontiac (my old favorite dealer of choice from back home in Motown), I finally struck gold today.

Made it before the long weekend! I received a nice gem in the mail today: an autographed copy of the new Knight Rider soundtrack album: The Stu Phillips Scores.

Destroyed Grand Prix

Back in 1995, I remember seeing a newspaper article in the Detroit Free Press about a couple of teenagers who were killed when a drunk driver T-boned their car at some insane rate of speed.

I heard from my dad this morning about the ‘79 Trans Am, which was sent off on an excursion to a performance car shop a couple of days ago.
