Oddball Update

As of today’s tracker update, my GTO has reached status code 3450 — fully assembled and waiting on the dock in Australia for — literally — its ship to come in. Now, let’s hurry up and get the boat on its way.

Newsflash: My GTO has reached status code 3300, Scheduled for Production! It looks like the 10/17 tentative build date will happen right on time.

After how rudely I was treated by my Trans Am the other day, this might come as a surprise.

Decided to take the WS6 out for a drive today. I don’t drive it too much anymore, maybe once every week or two, since I’ve been working at home full time.

According to the GM Fleet site, it seems that the ‘06 GTO gets a free upgrade to a 4-year / 50,000 mile warranty. Trying to confirm if this is correct.

Right now, GM is in labor talks with the Canadian Auto Workers union (CAW) which could affect production at the St. Catherine’s plant in Ontario where the LS2 (GTO) engine is produced.

News from the car clubs in Australia has it that the Monaro/GTO assembly plant is out of automatic transmissions!

I have no words for this car on eBay, except maybe: Why does an automatic need a shift light?

Thanks to all who voted in my GTO custom license plate poll. I have moved on to round two and would like to get some more opinions. If you have any other ideas for plates, feel free to offer them up in the comments section.

I read over at the LS2GTO Forums that a Louisana GTO owner reported first-hand knowledge that not only was the looting down there definitely not exaggerated, but that the looters even cleaned out a GM car dealership — cars, tools, and even key-cutting equipment.
