It’s been months since I visited the Knight Registries message board, and this morning when I decided to check up on those guys again, I happened across a sweet deal just as it was posted.

Okay, I’ve got $340 bucks to my name (after paying off the new monitor, that is) and I am hoping to pour every last cent of it into FIXING, once and for all, the injector leak on the Formula. This crap has got to stop.

Good news: Tonight I taught myself how to use a fuel pressure gauge, including diagnostic tests involving clamping off the supply and return lines.

The good news of the day is that I finally ordered the Gale Banks cat-back exhaust system I was wanting for the Formula. I actually snagged a great price on it.

ALDL-to-serial interface cable

Woohoo—I just bought one of these! I’m so excited. Basically, this is an ALDL-to-serial cable that will allow me to connect my laptop computer to the ALDL interface port on my ‘89 Formula.

Unfortunately I’m not talking about a Knight Rider-style front end—yet—but yesterday my dad and I were able to adjust the Formula’s hood so that it no longer rests on top of the front clip.

With our Christmas vacation at an end, my wife and I returned to Florida on Friday night. It had been a good trip, but we were both glad to be home.

Okay, so I got home tonight, cranked up the Formula and it stalled right away. It was in the garage all afternoon and it certainly wasn’t 40-50 degrees during the day, so the weather has nothing to do with the hard starting.

This past weekend, I finally got KITT’s fuel injector swap squared away.
