Oddball Update

Whenever I visit Thailand, as Apple and I often do, I inevitably miss being “plugged in” to the entertainment and news media I’m used to having here in the U.S.

During the infamous 2000 general election, Florida — in particular Palm Beach County — took the national spotlight, and phrases like “voter irregularities” and “hanging chads” became part of the American lexicon.

Here it is: Oddball Update version eight, or V8 as we like to call it. You knew it had to happen eventually: I got tired of looking at the old design and decided to do something about it.

Much to my delight, Cilantro Tamales (my favorite local Mexican restaurant) is still in business — at least, their original North Naples location is.

Odd. My usual “cruise control” pace of living has been tripped up several times today by strange malfunctions that came out of nowhere. And I’m telling you, it’s got to stop.

Life has been a bit of a whirlwind for me as of late. Not that this is necessarily bad; we’ve just come back from a very nice 4-day vacation in Disney World, for example, and I would hardly call that a bad thing.

Time to spin “East Bound and Down” one more time for the road: Jerry Reed, also known as Snowman from Smokey and the Bandit, has died.

Somebody call the Feebs?
When I rolled up to work in this car, my boss said, “I figured that either someone’s grandpa was coming to visit, or it was the rental they gave you.” Personally, I felt more like Agent Mulder.

I’m coming to you from Kansas City (Kansas, not Missouri) where I’ve embarked upon my first business trip.

I’m trying to book an AirTran flight to visit my company’s midwest office. I was just finishing my seat selections when the online reservation system errored out. Boom! Now I get to start all over. Thanks AirTran!
