Well, 2008, I Guess I Should Thank You
Just yesterday I posted up a rant about how much this year is costing us so far, and at the end, I smarmily asked for an end to the surcharges. Well, it seems I owe 2008 a nod of thanks — having gotten our tax return wrapped up, it looks like we’ll be getting a refund from the IRS in the amount of $2,094.
I think that sets some kind of personal record.
So, to 2008: Thanks.
(And, uh…is there any more where that last one came from?)

But I hope this is the beginning of a new trend for this year.
By the way, look out your window and be thankful - it is snowing like crazy here, just in time for rush hour. Took me 45 white knuckle minutes to get home from school this afternoon. But I do have to say, the Saab is marvelous in snow. Reminds me of the 92 Tempo - very solid and stable feeling. At least that’s something.
Wow, sounds like you’ve been getting a pretty strong dose of winter this year, after a few relatively mild years. Ironically, right now outside my windows, it’s pouring rain and storming in a way it hasn’t done in more months than I can count — including one explosive lightning strike that sounded literally like a bomb was dropped across the street — but I’d much rather have this than snow and ice!
