Dead or Alive Xtreme 2

Dead or Alive Xtreme 2

It’s back, and this time it’s not just volleyball.

Team Ninja released their full trailer for the Xbox360’s upcoming Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 during the E3 festivities today, giving us all a little taste of what the sequel’s got in store. For starters, “Volleyball” no longer appears in the title because there’s more to do on the island this time around. From the stuff shown in the trailer, it looks like there will be tug-of-war games at the pool, water slides, jetski races — and volleyball, of course — making for a broader and more in-depth island experience. There’s also a photo shoot mode where you can take pictures of the characters. It’s ironic, actually, because these kinds of minigames were originally rumored to be included in the original DOAXBV, but did not make the cut.

IGN’s DOAX2 page has the trailer available for you to watch, or you can download the full-resolution, unaltered version (which weighs in at 186MB). In addition to lots of CG renders, you’ll see a little of what looks like some actual gameplay, as well as a bevy of new swimsuit designs (I hear there will be somewhere around 2,000 different suits available for purchase in the final product). Oh — and I guess Team Ninja really likes Meja’s “How Crazy Are You,” because it’s the theme song again.

Now, when does this thing come out? :D

Edit: There’s an article with more details on DOAX2 over at 1UP.com. I can’t believe that this game is actually the #1 ranked title on that entire website right now, based on user traffic…topping even Halo 3.
