Gonna Be a Late Night

Looks like I’m going to be up for a while yet today. It was a busy one — it all started with another 90-minute phone meeting this morning where further revisions and comments on the project du jour were discussed. I then went into “content creation” mode where I’ve been writing mainly marketing-type text for a bunch of web pages all day. I promised to have this stuff wrapped up by tomorrow morning, so I’ve got to stay up tonight until it’s done.

It wouldn’t have been a problem, except I discovered that I needed to replace most of the screenshots on the screenshot page. This was quite an ordeal — login to the system, take screenshot, Photoshop all the confidential data out, save two versions, lay ‘em out in a grid, yada yada. Took me hours. I just finished it up. I’ve still got to add videos, document downloads, and write three “usage scenarios,” so it’s gonna be another couple hours yet, I think. Feh. At least tomorrow I don’t need to get up early.

I invoiced Gulfstream for the work done on their website project today. I also arranged web hosting for them, configured their hosting account and got their domain name transferred. While I was at it, I rearranged all of my email folders so they’re much more organized (beforehand, I had stuff for various clients strewn willy-nilly in one big “Work” folder). While I was doing this, one of my…ahem, “most interesting” clients called to ask if I was going to have some time for his site redo in the next couple of weeks. I let him leave a voicemail. I’m not sure how I’m going to answer yet.

Good news: My GTO gauge pod must have shipped from Australia on Friday, because my credit card was finally charged for it. I anxiously await its arrival. Seriously, my car is really dirty at the moment but I’ve just been too slammed to get out there and wash it. Thanks to Daylight Savings Time we’ve got a lot more “well lit hours” though, so that might work to my advantage. Speaking of DST, does anybody else feel especially weird this time? It seems like every day is coming to an end far too fast…

That’s it for today.
