…And I can’t believe how much quieter this room is for it. Not to mention the fact that now the machine runs 2°C cooler than it did before—an idle temp of 42°C now. Sweet merciful crap. My new machine is so definitely going on the floor too.

For all these years I always resisted putting the box on the floor; I thought it would get extra loaded with dust, and then I’d complain because the CD trays weren’t within easy reach. Well, my current case (and my new one) has an air filter on the only intake, so I doubt the former issue is really an issue at all. And the CD trays; pssh…how often do I swap CDs, and how hard is it to reach down? The blessed 50% drop in ambient dB is worth any extra inconvenience.

Oh, speaking of that new machine…I think I’m going to call it SHODAN. Now I just need to craft a nifty new logo badge, like that XERXES one I lifted from the System Shock 2 texture file.

God, I started watching Evangelion again tonight. There goes the next couple of weeks.
