I thought there was a chance I might post further entries on here during the course of our trip, but it was not to be. (Due to all the stuff we like to do up here, it rarely is.) Tomorrow we’re getting up at 4:45 a.m. in order to get to the airport for an early flight, and I have to say, it was one of the best vacations in Michigan that I’ve ever had. We got to do a little of everything—shopping, eating, hanging out with friends, sightseeing, relaxing, playing, and just having a good time.

Unfortunately the “festivities” were sorta capped off this morning (well, for me it was this morning) with the news that my friend Reaper had a terrible accident last night on the way home from the movie theater where we all saw Star Wars Episode III. Apparently some dumbfuck pulled out right in front of his prized Subaru WRX STi, and the resulting collision has apparently totaled the Subie. The engine compartment has apparently ceased to exist. Thankfully Reaper himself appears uninjured, physically anyway. I can only imagine how pissed off and upset he must be right now. If I apply the same situation to my car, it’s an unpleasant prospect—to say the least—and I’m sure I’d be devastated.

Reaper—best of luck with the insurance company, and with screwing it to the responsible party in short order. I hope the financial situation winds up such that you can quickly get a new ‘06 STi on order from Japan. And if there’s anything I can do to help, just shout out.
