China Dolls, Chinese New Year
Yesterday was a lousy day at work, just like Monday also was and just like today is shaping up to be. So to cheer me up, my wife gave me my birthday present early: The latest album from Thai pop singers China Dolls, as well as a karaoke video-CD of same. The album, China Dance, is a compilation of the peppier tracks from their entire catalogue, as well as a couple of new songs. And having the video-CD is sweet because I get to see all the music videos, as well as romanized Thai lyrics so I can actually mimic what it is they’re saying, in case I should find the urge to start singing in Thai while I’m stuck in the local nightmarish traffic.
I have to say that the album totally worked as a bid to improve my spirits last night, and I must whole-heartedly thank Apple for her kindness and the innate ability she has to do just that. And also, thanks for putting up with me while I open the Bitching Relief Valve (BRV) immediately after coming home from work; blowing off that steam is a necessary step toward getting the whole mess off your mind and moving on to happier things.
In other news, related only because I used the word “China” in the above paragraphs, Happy Chinese New Year to everyone, especially my family in Thailand! The celebration has been going on for a few days now, and as per my parents in law, one day we want to go to Thailand during this time of year so we can take part in all the festivities. In the meantime I want to wish everyone much health and happiness in this Year of the Rooster. Gung Hay Fat Choy!
I think I shall go play the China Dolls’ Happy New Year song to celebrate.
