And Just to Show It’s Not All Lumps of Coal…
…After getting installed in the midst of a big project in the middle of the holidays, the CEO just came by to talk to me about my career path and my education background, and said that next week he wants to discuss the possibility of sponsoring me in a program to get a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Marketing or some such thing, which would bolster my value, so to speak.
This is something I’ve often thought about—I got the education I needed to get out in the marketplace and get some experience, and not a moment too soon. Since then I’ve thought about beefing that up, but who has the time or money to go back to school, especially when you’re working all the time. But with support from your employer, things can change. This could be an interesting opportunity.
The big question in my mind now is…a degree in marketing? Eughhh. Well, we’ll see what my options are.
