Lurker Issue? Didn’t Fix It
It seems the infamous lurker issue still exists. While the verbiage on the “users online” bar is certainly more pleasant, the fact remains that when you first arrive at the site, regardless of your status, the system will erroneously increment the “lurker” count an extra time. Which means if you’re logged in, you’ll also be counted as a lurker. And if you’re not logged in, you’ll be counted as two lurkers. But refresh the page right after you get here, and the extra lurker count goes away!
I’ve looked at the database while this is happening and analyzed the SQL queries, and I can’t figure out what the problem is. I’ll continue to work on it.
