Hurricane Frances: Disaster Reloaded
So now we have another hurricane coming toward us—Hurricane Frances. It’s projected to hit the east coast of Florida, but where exactly is anyone’s guess. If it hits far enough south, like in Miami or those parts, and if the storm is sufficiently strong when it makes landfall, we could be in for a world of hurt over here. Much more hurt than when Charley blew by us. We’re far enough south on Florida’s west coast that Charley didn’t affect us much, but a major category 4 or 5 hurricane making landfall in Miami would really screw us up good. That’s what happened in 1992 when Andrew landed. That was an east coast hurricane, but there was major damage done here too.
Which reminds me, what is with 2004, anyway? This has been the worst year I’ve lived through since the hellspawn that was 1996. I suppose there have been some good things that have happened, but overall it’s just been one platter of crap after another outweighing everything else. Is it time for this year to end yet? Stupid year.
