Enjoying the New Digs

The big office move is finally over, and all that extra work I had to do to prepare us (and our customers) for the relocation is finished, too. Now it’s back to business as usual, which means we can actually get some real work done. Over at the new building, we’re up on the sixth floor, which gives us a nice view—not of the Gulf of Mexico, alas, but of a lot of nice undeveloped land and blue sky. My Trans Am is chillin’ down in the parking deck, sharing the entire second-to-the-top level with not a single other car. Life is good!
Things went pretty smoothly, I have to admit. There weren’t any major snags—none that affected me, anyway—although the building crew somehow forgot to install the air conditioner in our server room. What surprised me the most was the fact that our phones were up and running pretty much trouble-free from day one, and even the forwarding from our old numbers is working. Given that Sprint was in charge of all that, I figured it would be a disaster!
Last night, meanwhile, I wasted a good three hours or so playing Painkiller. Finished the whole first chapter. I’ve also been heavily into Sacred lately, having finally gotten up to a Level 20 Seraphim and begun Act III of the main plot. Last I left my tireless heroine, she was having to escort some idiotic Orc fool out of a city that’s been overrun with undead, and that freakin’ Orc is stupid enough to want to stop and fight every zombie, skeleton and goblin on the way, getting himself killed every time. If he dies, I fail the quest. What a moron. It’s a side-quest, too, which I’m beginning to think I should never have taken.
Anyway, that’s all for now—just didn’t want to let this place dry up too much again.
