What A Difference Some Rubber Makes

BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDWS

BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDWS

Wow. Is this what I’ve been missing out on for all these years? The ride quality on my Trans Am has been absolute garbage for at least that long—in fact, I’d probably venture to say that the suspension / road feel / handling has not felt correct since October of 2000, when an otherwise innocuous tire rotation at the local Pontiac dealer spawned a nightmare from hell. Today, finally, I put an end to that nightmare.

The four new BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDWS tires I had mounted on the car this morning are amazing. The ride quality is vastly improved. Road noise has been significantly lessened, to the point where I can actually hear what’s being said on the radio without jacking the volume up. Steering sensitivity seems triple what it was; the wheel turns effortlessly when you want it to, and when you let go of it, the car no longer goes diving off the road into a ditch.

This almost makes me forget about the problems the dealership assnuts couldn’t fix.

I picked up the car from Tire Kingdom at noon, and it was difficult for me to gauge the improvement in ride comfort since lunch hour traffic was keeping things at an absolute standstill. So, I decided to take a trip down to the mall and buy a copy of Sacred with some of the leftover cash I had. After I got out of there, I was finally able to get up to speed, and wwwooooowwww…I love these tires. Why would any fool pay $325 a tire for a Goodyear F1 GS when they can have one of these for around $160?

I’m psyched now. This weekend I’m gonna wash the car, scrub the tires with Westley’s and spray some of that glossy foam stuff on ‘em. And then I might just get myself one of the Pontiac Mall’s new T-shirts to wear while I’m out driving:
