At a friend’s urging—or would that be “against a friend’s stern warning”?—I checked out FanFiction.net. Why I do these things to myself, I’ll never know. But since Web Site Number Nine was taken offline indefinitely due to a “server move”, I have to satiate my burning desire for schlocky fanfic somehow, right? (Wait a minute—what burning desire?)

It only takes two words to sum up just how bad some of this writing is. To wit, the following fragment from a Knight Rider fanfic:

I’m going to bed.
