Perhaps A Bit Calmer Now
Okay, I’ve chilled out. The asswipe who bounced my paycheck at least had the balls to return my phone call and explain what happened. Obviously I don’t know if he was lying through his teeth or what, but I have a feeling he was honest about it. I don’t feel as though this guy is sinister or anything, he’s just a total, complete, unorganized smeghead. He claims that he should have had the funds in his account, but his bank was holding an out-of-state check hostage until it cleared, and it took longer to clear than he expected. Given that this guy used to work in the banking industry makes me wonder why he didn’t understand how long it would take a check to clear, but who knows.
Anyway, since nothing can be done during the holidays this week, I’m going to get on this at the beginning of next week. I left him another voicemail stating that I would follow up with him after the holidays and would like to have both that original invoice and my second invoice paid at the same time. In his message to me, the guy offered to go down to the bank and make a direct deposit into my account, if I would give him my account number. Fuck no! You’re not getting my goddamn account number. It’s probably harmless but I don’t care. This guy is the last person I want running around with that.
Anyway, I’m going to say that the holiday officially starts now. I’ve got Silent Hill in the PS2, and Catalyst 3.9 installed on my computer (boy, was that a bitch to accomplish)—and three brand new games/demos to try out. So I’d better get to it…
