Insurance Update

Well, I just called the insurance company back and questioned them on exactly why my agent told me that I’d be paying the full premium on my ‘89 Formula no matter when I bring it down to Florida. The person I talked to—apparently someone in charge of billing—agreed that what I was told sounded wrong and didn’t understand why I would have been told that. She said that if I brought the car down in December, for instance, my premium would be pro-rated for however many months are left in my current policy period. Thank God.

In all fairness, it’s possible that I misunderstood. But at least it sounds like I will not be paying the full annual premium for, say, nine months of insurance coverage or less, which was how I understood the figures my agent gave me. Bah.

Anyway, we’re back at Defcon 5. (HUH HUH THAT MEANS A WAR LOLOLOLOL). Apparently I’m not about to get “penetroded” by the insurance company, but I will say that they are pretty disorganized over there. Everybody seems to be their own island of information that never communicates with the other islands in the great, sweeping sea of chaos that is the insurance company as a whole.

Now that I’ve calmed down, I’m going to go home, light up some hamburgers on the grill (hopefully without nearly immolating myself this time), watch the Enterprise that I taped yesterday and chill the hell out. Tomorrow’s Friday, and that means the weekend is right around the corner. And this weekend I’m going to just relax and make amends with all the sleep I’ve missed out on in the last two weeks. The Formula is locked up in a garage and I’m not paying for it while it’s there, so I can rest easy.

Besides, I believe I have a story to get back to writing…
